Universal resin wheels with deformed tires for the MiG-19 Farmer in 1:72 scale from Armory will give a model a natural stance on its base.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set for replacing the landing gear wheels when building a MiG-19 model in 1:72 scale. It is not a model but an accessory. The tires are cast with the compression caused by the weight of the aircraft, so once finished the model does not stand on a point of contact but on an area, as can be seen on a real machine on the apron. The manufacturer lists the set as universal, that is tied to the subject rather than to one particular kit.
The MiG-19 was the first Soviet series-built supersonic fighter, brought into service from the mid-1950s. It had a pair of engines and a swept wing and became the basis for licensed as well as derived production in other countries. In service it appeared in several versions, which differed mainly in equipment and armament.
On wheels with a deformed tire the orientation is crucial: the compressed area has to point straight down toward the base. Before gluing, therefore, stand the model up and turn the wheel dry, and only then apply a drop of cyanoacrylate. Beforehand, wash the mold release agent off the castings and cut the casting block off with a saw. When painting, separate the tire and the hub with masking fluid and spray the finished wheel with a matte coat so that the surface of the rubber does not shine.
This is an accessory for building a model, not a standalone kit of the aircraft. It is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
