1:72 Mirage 2000N 20ans Mirage 2000N ASMP EC1/4 Dauphiné 2008

Decals for the anniversary of the ASMP missile carrier, 1:72 scale

The sheet is intended for a model of the two-seat Mirage 2000N in French Air Force service. It refers to twenty years of this type's service with the ASMP missile and to the ceremonially painted aircraft of the EC 1/4 Dauphiné squadron of 2008. How many schemes the sheet offers and whether technical stencils belong to them is not stated here.

The Mirage 2000N and its role

The version designated by the letter N was developed from the base Mirage 2000 as a two-seat aircraft for low-altitude penetration. Compared with the fighter version it had a strengthened airframe, different equipment for terrain-following flight and a second crew member who worked the systems. The units armed with this version carried out the task entrusted to them for decades and traditionally marked their anniversaries with a single conspicuously painted aircraft, while the rest of the unit stayed in gray.

Applying the decals

A decal holds best on a smooth gloss coat. Cut as close to the motif as possible, dip briefly in lukewarm water and adjust the final position with a soft brush. On large areas over engraving, use a product that softens the decal and settles it into the recesses; then let everything dry thoroughly and unify it with a final coat of varnish.

Who the sheet is for

• collectors of French combat aircraft of recent decades
• builders who prefer striking anniversary schemes
• modelers looking for an alternative to the decals in the base box
• anyone interested in the two-seat derivatives of the Mirage 2000 family

You are buying the sheet alone; you will not find a kit of the aircraft or paints in it.
