A plastic kit of the French Morane-Saulnier AI parasol fighter in 1:72 scale by Kovozavody Prostejov, with decals for machines in French service.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Morane-Saulnier AI is a French single-seat fighter from the end of the First World War. It differed from most contemporary fighters at first glance: instead of two wings above each other it has a single wing carried on struts above the fuselage, the layout known as a parasol. Thanks to it the pilot sees forward and downward considerably better than from a biplane. Power came from a rotary engine, that is a radial that turned together with the propeller around a fixed shaft, which can also be seen in the shape of the cowled nose.
This is a plastic kit in 1:72 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, the parts are on sprues and a decal sheet and instructions with painting schemes go with them. This boxing is focused on machines in French service; the particular aircraft and their markings are given in the instructions.
First deal with the cockpit, because once the fuselage is glued together you cannot reach it. Fit the wing above the fuselage only when the struts are in place, and check that it sits level and on the centerline; the position can still be corrected before the glue sets. The fabric-covered surfaces carry a fine rib structure, so apply the paint in thin coats. Add the rigging from taut thread at the very end.
The set will please builders of First World War aircraft and collectors of French subjects in 1:72 scale. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
