Vacuum-formed de Havilland Mosquito B/PR Mk.IV canopy 1:72 (Rob Taurus) is a clear replacement for the cockpit glazing of the bomber and reconnaissance versions, with thin walls.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory, not a model, for aircraft models of the de Havilland Mosquito in the bomber (B) and photo-reconnaissance (PR) Mk.IV versions in 1:72 scale. The glazing is drawn from thin transparent film by vacuum forming, so it has more delicate walls and higher clarity than the injection-molded part from the box. The package usually holds several pieces, for a choice of position or as a spare.
The de Havilland Mosquito was a British twin-engined aircraft of largely wooden construction, famous for its high speed and versatility. The B (bomber) and PR (photo-reconnaissance) versions were unarmed and relied on speed; the Mk.IV was one of the early production variants. The glazed nose and the framed cockpit canopy are characteristic of these versions.
Cut the glazing out with a sharp scalpel close to the outline and sand the edges finely. For maximum gloss the part can be dipped in a gloss varnish. It is glued with clear PVA glue, or very carefully with cyanoacrylate so that the fumes do not dull the plastic. The intricate frames are masked and sprayed at the end.
This is an accessory, not an aircraft model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
