An injection-molded plastic kit of the fighter Mustang Mk.III in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Kovozavody Prostejov. The kit holds injection-molded plastic parts and a clear canopy and offers the characteristic bulged Malcolm hood canopy. A decal sheet with markings for machines in British service is included.
Mustang Mk.III was the British designation for the early Merlin-engined versions of the Mustang delivered to the ranks of the Royal Air Force. A number of these machines were retrofitted with the bulged Malcolm hood canopy, which markedly improved the pilot's view over the original framed glazing. The aircraft served with British as well as Allied squadrons.
Paint the cockpit and set it in place before joining the fuselage halves. The bulged Malcolm hood comes out well once it has been polished and the frames carefully masked. The camouflage of British service is best sprayed with an airbrush on a primed surface; lay the decals over a gloss varnish and fix them with a matte overcoat. Clean up any small flash with sandpaper before gluing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
