1:72 NASA F-15 Eagle: Caracal Models decals for McDonnell Douglas F-15 machines in NASA research service. The aircraft is supplied as a kit in its own right.
Responsibility details are not available.
Markings in 1:72 scale for McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle aircraft operated by the research agency NASA. The sheet is an accessory for a model; the airframe of the aircraft is not in the package.
The F-15 came about as an air superiority fighter with a high thrust to weight ratio and a large wing, thanks to which it keeps its agility even at great altitude. It was exactly these qualities that made it a sought-after carrier for aeronautical research. Machines in trials service were used for experiments with digital engine control, with adaptive flight control systems and with procedures meant to let an aircraft continue flying even after damage. Research aircraft wear an unmistakable light finish with blue features instead of combat gray.
The light surface of research machines is merciless toward any dirt, so work with clean hands and with the tweezers set down on a dry cloth. The blue bands run across the fuselage and the engine nacelles, so line up how they follow on first and only then settle the feature firmly. Gloss varnish under the markings will do most of the work by itself; use a decal softener only where a decal crosses engraved detail.
