A plastic kit of the Bell P-39Q Airacobra (1:72, RS Models): the American fighter with the unconventional arrangement of the engine behind the pilot.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Bell P-39Q Airacobra fighter in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker RS Models. It is a short-run kit with a fine surface, completed with several resin parts, a clear transparent canopy part and decals for several color schemes. Short-run kits usually have simpler fit than mass-production kits, which is why they suit more experienced modelers. The exact contents of the box and the schemes are given in the instructions.
The P-39 Airacobra was an unconventionally laid out American fighter with the engine placed behind the pilot and the propeller shaft running under the cockpit, which freed the nose for strong centerline armament firing through the propeller hub. The Q version was the most numerous variant. Airacobras proved themselves on a large scale in the Soviet Air Force, where they excelled against ground targets and at lower altitudes.
Cut the parts off the sprues and glue them with liquid cement for plastic; wash the mold release agent off the resin parts and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. With short-run kits, expect to clean up the mating surfaces and to dry-fit the parts before gluing. Paint the cockpit and the interior before closing the fuselage. Clear coat the surfaces with gloss before the decals and finish the whole with a matte clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
