Resin intercooler exhausts for the American P-47 Thunderbolt fighter in 1:72 scale from the Quickboost brand. It is not an airplane model but an accurate replacement part for more experienced modelers that replaces the simplified plastic parts from the kit with more faithful castings with open outlet doors on the sides of the fuselage behind the cockpit.
The P-47 Thunderbolt was a massive fighter with a radial engine and a turbocharger housed in the rear fuselage; it was precisely the large ducting and cooling that gave the aircraft its characteristically bulky fuselage. The warmed air from the intercooler left through outlet doors on the sides of the fuselage, which are clearly visible on a model. The part is intended to refine an existing Thunderbolt model in the same scale.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent to remove the remains of mold release agent from the mold. Cut the casting blocks off with a sharp knife or a fine saw and clean the surfaces up; protect your airways when sanding resin. Glue with cyanoacrylate — ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on resin. Test the mating surfaces dry beforehand and adjust them gently if needed.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for completing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
