1:32 RAF Bomb sight Mk IXA is a resin casting of the British bombsight, meant to equip the glazed nose of a bomber in the large scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small cast component that adds the British bombsight designated Mk IXA to a large-format model. In the package is the instrument alone, no aircraft and no finished cockpit. You will reach for it where you want to replace a coarsely suggested plastic part with a shape that has crisp detail on the scales and the supporting structure. The 1:32 scale corresponds to the large aircraft kits, on which the inside of the nose is clearly visible.
Bombsights of the Mk IX series were among the basic equipment of the bomber and patrol aircraft of the Royal Air Force in the thirties and forties. It was a mechanical instrument that the operator set according to speed, altitude and wind speed and that was mounted in the glazed nose or by a side window. The individual lettered forms differed in the arrangement of the scales and the method of attachment.
First wash the casting in lukewarm water with a little dish soap so that no remnants of the mold release agent are left on the surface. Cut the casting block off with a fine-toothed saw and level the surface with abrasive paper; resin is best worked wet and with respiratory protection. Super glue holds the joint. The base is formed by a dark gray-black; once it has dried, a thin wash into the recesses and a light dry brush on the edges and the setting wheels will help.
