Responsibility details are not available.
A small replacement set from the Czech maker Eduard for a model of the P-51B or P-51C fighter in 1:72 scale. These are neither photo-etched parts nor a kit: the parts are 3D-printed in resin and replace the molded plastic exhausts from the base kit. This is the variant with the exhaust fairing, that is with the sheet-metal cover that was fitted over the exhaust stacks on some Mustangs. The version without the fairing is a separate item, so choose according to the particular aircraft you are building.
Exhausts are among the details that show on a model at once and that injection-molded plastic handles badly, as the mouths of the stacks tend to be blind and the walls unrealistically thick. 3D printing can render a hollow mouth and sharp edges, so the part looks right even close up. In 1:72 scale it is one of the smallest changes with the most visible effect in a photograph of the finished model.
The part is attached to thin print supports: separate it with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw, never break it off. Sand the remains of the supports back with fine sandpaper, ideally wet and with your airways protected, and do not breathe in resin dust. Before gluing, wash the part in warm water with a drop of detergent and let it dry. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). In color the exhausts look best as a dark metal with a rusty cast, completed by a faint trace of sooting running backward.
An accessory to a plastic model, not a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
