About product

Panzerbefehlswagen 38(t) Ausf. E/F (1:72, First to Fight)

An injection-molded plastic kit of the command version of the German Panzer 38(t) light tank in 1:72 scale. The model captures the version on the Ausf. E/F chassis with the frame antenna of a command vehicle added. The kit from the First to Fight line is laid out to be straightforward, with fewer parts and decals for period German markings.

The real subject

The starting point was the Czechoslovak LT vz. 38 light tank, which the Wehrmacht took over as the Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) after the occupation of Czechoslovakia. The Ausf. E and F versions brought heavier armor. The command version, the Panzerbefehlswagen, carried additional radio equipment and a distinctive antenna and served to direct tank units on the battlefield.

Building and painting tips

Finish and paint the running gear and the lower hull before you close the hull up. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and fit the small parts and the antenna carefully. For an early war look a uniform gray shade is the one to use; finish the patina, the dust and the dirt on the running gear with washes and pigments at the end.

Who the model is for

  • Anyone interested in German armor of the early Second World War
  • Modelers who appreciate a quicker build at a smaller scale
  • Collectors of 38(t) tank variants in 1:72 scale

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
