This product is a vacuum-formed (vacuform) clear canopy in 1:72 scale for a model of the Petlyakov Pe-2 from Rob Taurus. It is neither a model of an aircraft nor a kit, but a standalone clear part replacing the production cockpit glazing.
The Pe-2 was a Soviet twin-engine bomber and reconnaissance aircraft of the Second World War, one of the most widely used machines of its kind on the Eastern Front. Its glazed crew cockpit is a prominent feature on a model.
Vacuum-formed glazing has thinner walls and higher clarity than an injection-molded part. It is cut out with a sharp knife along the engraved outline, the edges are sanded down to an exact fit, and for maximum transparency the part can be dipped in a gloss varnish. It is glued with PVA glue for canopies or with cyanoacrylate applied in the smallest possible amount.
This is a standalone accessory (clear cockpit glazing), not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
