IBG models 1:72 Polish Artillerymen 1939 (Set 2, 2 Figures) 75mm Field Gun Crew: a pair of Polish artillerymen of the September 1939 campaign as the crew of a 75 mm field gun.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second set of Polish artillerymen from the Warsaw manufacturer IBG models brings two figures in 1:72 scale that extend the crew of a 75 mm field gun. The figures follow on from the first package of the same range; only by combining both sets do you get the complete team around the weapon as period photographs from September 1939 capture it. The figures match the equipment of the Polish army at the start of the Second World War.
The 75 mm wz. 1897 gun, a licensed descendant of the famous French piece, formed the backbone of the Polish light artillery. During the September campaign the crews used it not only against infantry but, at a pinch, against German tanks as well, where its rate of fire proved itself. Artillerymen in wz. 31 helmets and field blouses belong among the typical images of the heroic, if unequal, Polish defense of September 1939.
A restrained khaki green-brown captures Polish uniforms, with the leather straps a tone darker. In such a small scale a clean base and fine shading decide the result: a thin glaze in the folds and a lighter rub on the edges are enough. Matching the color of the gun carriage will link the scene together optically.
