The 1:72 Potez 25/27 decal sheet from Print Scale is intended for models of the French interwar general-purpose biplanes. It is an accessory for a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale for models of the French Potez 25 and Potez 27 biplanes. The set is intended for finishing a completed model and contains no construction parts of its own. Check which particular machines and operators the sheet covers against the illustration of the sheet on the packaging.
The Potez 25 was among the most widespread French two-seat biplanes of the 1920s. It was designed as a general-purpose machine for observation, cooperation with ground forces and light bombing, and it was built in many engine variants. The structure was simple, rugged and easy to maintain, which opened the way to extensive export and licensed production outside France. The Potez 27 comes from the same development family. Thanks to their wide circle of operators, these aircraft carried very varied national and unit markings, and that is exactly why they are such a rewarding subject for decal sheets.
Biplanes of this generation have large areas of fabric covering with the ribs showing through beneath. A decal laid onto such a surface dry will form visible bridges between the ribs. So work in stages: first a smooth gloss varnish, then the decal with plenty of water, blot the excess away and let it set. Only then apply the softener and let the film sink down between the ribs, ideally in two goes. Do not touch a decal while it is softening, or it will tear. Proceed just as carefully on the areas between the struts and the bracing wires, which are hard to reach, and finally unify everything with a matte clear coat.
