The PSP display base in 1:72 scale from Eduard is a preformed board with the surface of pierced steel planking for displaying aircraft models to good effect.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit but a display and diorama base. The board carries a faithful relief of pierced steel planking (PSP, known as Marsden matting), from which temporary airfield surfaces were quickly assembled during the war. The base is supplied in a colored finish, so a model can be displayed on it practically at once. It will serve as a base under aircraft models and small dioramas.
Pierced steel planking (PSP) was used from the Second World War onward to build field takeoff and taxiing surfaces in forward areas, from the Pacific through Korea to Vietnam. Its regular holes and the interlocking edges of the individual panels are characteristic.
You can use the base in the colored finish as supplied, or tone the surface further with rust, oils and dust for the realistic look of a surface in use. Seat the model so that the landing gear rests naturally on the relief. The edges can be completed with grass or soil.
The base serves as a display foundation. The model, paints and other accessories are not included in the package.
