A plastic kit of the Polish PZL P.11c fighter in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer BIGMODEL. The model is supplied to be glued and painted.
The PZL P.11c was an all-metal single-seat fighter with a cranked high wing, called a gull wing for its shape. The layout gave the pilot an exceptional view forwards and upwards, which in the era of open cockpits was a great advantage. Power came from an air-cooled radial engine, the landing gear was fixed and carried aerodynamic wheel fairings. The P.11c version had a revised forward fuselage and a differently positioned pilot's seat compared with the earlier machines. In the second half of the 1930s the type formed the backbone of the Polish fighter force.
A small scale forgives less than it seems: the landing gear struts and the wing bracing are thin, so separate them from the fret with a sharp knife and clean up the casting remains carefully with abrasive. The cockpit is clearly visible with an open canopy, so it pays to paint it and add at least the belts. Fit the gull wing dry and watch the symmetry of the two halves before the glue grabs. Lay on a filler primer before painting, apply the decals to a glossy base and use a softener. Paint the wheel fairings and the engine cowling separately.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
