This accessory set from the Czech brand Brengun contains an etched metal ladder to the cockpit of the RA-5C Vigilante reconnaissance aircraft. It is not an aircraft model in its own right but a detail that will certainly not be lost on this massive machine - the Vigilante's cockpit sat high above the deck and the crew could not get into their tandem cockpits without a ladder. Thin etched metal makes it possible to render the rungs and the side rails with a fineness injection-molded plastic cannot reach.
The North American RA-5C Vigilante came about by converting the supersonic carrier-based A-5 bomber into a fast reconnaissance machine. In a ventral canoe and modified compartments it carried cameras and other reconnaissance equipment, and over Vietnam it was among the fastest and at the same time the most dangerous machines of the US Navy - it flew low, fast and often alone. It lasted with the fleet until the end of the 1970s. The elegant, long fuselage with its high-set cockpit makes the Vigilante an imposing model.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface and make the bends with tweezers or a bender along the lines marked. Glue with super glue in small amounts. Before painting, degrease the etch and apply a primer coat so that the final paint holds well.
This is an accessory set, not an aircraft model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue and paints are not included in the package.
