An injection molded plastic kit of a modern Russian tank in the small armor scale of 1:72. The set comes from new molds and holds over one hundred and fifty parts. The construction is snap-fit, that is the parts fit into one another without glue, which beginners will value as well as modelers who want to build the model quickly. More experienced builders can nevertheless glue the joints for safety. The finished model is around 15 cm long.
The T-14 Armata is a Russian main battle tank built on the universal tracked Armata platform. It was first presented to the public in 2015. From the older Soviet and Russian types it differs in its layout: the turret is unmanned and remotely controlled, while the whole crew sits in a separate armored capsule in the front part of the hull, apart from the ammunition and the gun. The main armament is a smoothbore gun of 125 mm caliber completed by a machine gun armament. The vehicle is fitted with a modern system of observation and fire control and with active elements of protection. Series deployment of the type remains limited.
With a tank model, finish the running gear and the tracks first and only then close the hull. In 1:72 scale a thin coat of paint is essential so that the fine detail is not clogged; an airbrush and a base primer are ideal. Modern Russian vehicles are painted in a single protective shade or in a three-color scheme; spray the transitions finely and, in a small scale, rather more cautiously. At the end add a light wash into the recesses, fine drybrushing of the edges and dust pigments on the lower part of the hull and the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
