The Sd.Kfz. 234 was a series of German heavy armored cars on eight wheels. All the wheels were driven and steered, the engine lay at the rear and the car had a second driver's station for driving in reverse. For reconnaissance units that was a crucial feature: a machine that meets the enemy on a narrow road does not have to turn around, it only changes its direction of travel and drives away.
The 234/3 version carried a short 7.5 cm gun in an open superstructure, meant more for support by fire than for fighting armored targets. The open superstructure gives the model an interesting interior, because the fighting compartment can be seen into from above. At the same time it calls for care, because what can be seen has to be finished and painted.
A vehicle roughly six meters long comes out at roughly eight and a half centimeters in 1:72 scale, so it is a small model with fine parts. The most delicate are the wheels and the fenders: seat the wheels exactly according to the instructions, so that the car does not stand crooked, and do not overload the thin fenders with glue. Paint the fighting compartment before you close the superstructure. When weathering in a small scale, dust does more work than mud: a lighter deposit on the lower surfaces and on the wheels looks more convincing than a thick layer of earth.
Paints, glue, putty and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
