An accessory set for a model of the German Sturmpanzer IV Brummbaer assault gun in 1:72 scale. It adds equipment and stowage to a finished kit, giving the vehicle a worn, frontline look.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sturmpanzer IV, carried under the designation Sd.Kfz. 166 and nicknamed Brummbaer, arose on the chassis of the Panzer IV tank. Instead of a turret it received an armored superstructure with a short 15 cm howitzer, which was to break up fortified buildings and field positions where an ordinary tank was not enough. These vehicles reached combat from 1943 and served with independent assault gun battalions.
The set adds to a finished model of the Brummbaer in the small 1:72 scale. It is precisely the small equipment, the stowage and the traces of use that tell a model built from the kit alone apart from a vehicle that looks as though it really had been driven. The exact composition of the set is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with a little dish soap and let them dry. Cut excess material and traces of manufacture away a little distance from the part with a sharp blade and sand the surface. Choose the glue to match the material of the parts. In 1:72 scale it pays to paint with a thin brush and to work in layers: the base, then brightened edges and finally fine soiling.
The set is for modelers who build in a small scale and want to give the vehicle life. Unless stated otherwise, the kit itself, paints and glue are not part of the delivery.
