Six tenths of a millimeter across the flats in the lowered version. The second finest value of the scale, a head with a flat top on a wide ring.
Responsibility details are not available.
The difference from the smallest size offered is a single tenth of a millimeter, and yet it is worked with quite differently. The smaller value is at the limit of what can still be seated without a magnifier; here you can already hold the part in tweezers and turn it without holding your breath. For many builders this is therefore the first size that can be handled at an ordinary pace.
The visual difference is the opposite of the handling one. On a finished model the six will be indistinguishable from the five until both are side by side on one surface. Choose, then, by the surface the anchoring is to seat on and by how far it will be from the viewer's eye. The farther from the view, the more likely you can go a value up, so that the joint shows at all.
A lowered top takes being sprayed over better than a full head, because it does not round off so quickly under the paint. Even so, it is better to apply the coats thinly and in several passes. A heavy coat fills the transition between the top and the ring beneath it, and it is precisely this transition that makes the joint credible. If it does happen, the outline can be carefully brought back with the tip of a toothpick before the paint dries. Patience pays off here more than any tool.
