This item is not a model of an aircraft but a tiny photo-etched set from Yahu Models. It is aimed at the rudder pedals, that is at a detail which is visible in the cockpit right under the instrument panel and which injected plastic in a small scale solves with a crude lump at best. The pedal is in fact an openwork structure with holes, and etched sheet manages exactly that shape, whereas a mold for plastic never will.
The 1:72 scale is the key thing here. The cockpit is small, but on models with the canopy open it is looked into directly from above and the cockpit floor is one of the first places the eye falls on. That is exactly why, in small scales, it is worth putting the effort into a few correctly made parts rather than into extensive detailing of a space that will not be seen anyway.
The Seversky and Republic brands belong to one development line of American fighter manufacturers, the second of them having arisen by the renaming of the first. The family therefore takes in both prewar fighters and machines deployed in the Second World War, which had the cockpit and its equipment laid out in a similar way. The set is consequently usable across the types of this line, not just on one particular aircraft.
Cut the original plastic detail away first and level the surface of the floor. Snip the photo-etched parts off with a sharp knife, not with pliers. Make the bends precisely; with parts as small as these a bending tool or two razor blades come in handy. They are glued with cyanoacrylate applied in minute drops with a pin. Degrease the metal and go over it with a primer for metals, and only then paint. It is worth gluing and painting the pedals before the fuselage is closed up.
