Resin wheels with weighted tires for the SH-60 Seahawk in 1:72 scale from Armory. A detailed replacement for the kit wheels of the naval helicopter with natural tire flattening.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of resin wheels from Armory for the shipboard SH-60 Seahawk helicopter in 1:72 scale. The tires are cast with weighted deformation - a slight flattening where they touch the ground - so the model stands naturally, like a real machine. Even in a small scale the one-piece resin castings offer noticeably crisper drawing of the hubs and the tire sidewalls than split kit parts can manage, and the change is a simple piece-for-piece replacement.
The Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk is the naval version of the Black Hawk helicopter, adapted for operating from the decks of ships. It serves in anti-submarine warfare, in search and rescue and for transport. It differs from the land-based version among other things in the layout of the landing gear - the tail wheel is moved further forward so that the machine can cope with landings on short decks. The wheeled landing gear is clearly visible on a model and more accurate wheels do it a great deal of good.
Wash the castings in warm soapy water to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks carefully and sand the marks down with respiratory protection. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the tires a very dark gray; on a shipboard machine only a light patina makes sense, as naval helicopters tend to be well maintained.
This is a resin accessory - the helicopter kit itself is not included in the package.
