1:72 Soviet Aces in Lavochkin La-5FN - an AML decal sheet on the theme of Soviet fighter aces on La-5FN machines.
Responsibility details are not available.
A themed decal sheet from AML aimed, according to the name, at the Lavochkin La-5FN machines flown by Soviet fighter aces. An excellent choice for modelers who want to give their model in 1:72 scale the personality of a particular Eastern Front pilot.
The La-5FN represented the high point of the La-5 line of development. The Shvetsov ASh-82FN radial engine with direct fuel injection gave the machine performance that let it match its German opponents at low and medium altitude. A number of famous Soviet aces fought on aircraft of this line, among them Ivan Kozhedub, the most successful Allied fighter pilot of the Second World War, and the type was also used by Czechoslovak airmen fighting alongside the Red Army. The robust air-cooled engine also gave the pilot a degree of protection in head-on encounters.
Settle the stars and personal emblems onto a fully cured varnish base. On motifs that cross engraved lines, use a softener once they are settled and let the decal flow into the detail without mechanical pressure. The personal emblems tend to be small, so transfer them one at a time and with plenty of light over the workbench. A final matte varnish then visually ties the decals and the camouflage into a single whole.
