Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale focused on a late development version of the legendary Spitfire, the Griffon-engined F Mk.21 variant. The Post War Service edition concentrates on aircraft in postwar operation, that is, in markings from the period just after the Second World War. The box contains parts in gray plastic and clear parts for the canopy.
The Spitfire Mk.21 represented one of the most capable versions of the whole family. Compared with the early Merlin-engined machines it received the more powerful Rolls-Royce Griffon V12, a strengthened airframe and a redesigned, enlarged wing with a new tip shape. The result was a markedly faster fighter with a better rate of climb. It took only a marginal part in the fighting of the Second World War, so its main service fell to the postwar years, when it served with British units until it was withdrawn in the early 1950s.
It is a classic injection-molded kit. Join the parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic, and glue the clear canopy parts with a cement intended for the purpose, so that they do not fog. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush in thin coats. Postwar schemes tend to be cleaner, so restrained weathering and accentuating the panel lines with a wash will help.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
