Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of the British fighter Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc in its late version, in 1:72 scale, from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. Eduard offers this type in several editions (including ProfiPACK with etched parts and masks, and the simpler Weekend) — the exact package contents, the number of marking options and accessories vary by edition. Check the exact edition against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was a capable British Second World War fighter, created by fitting a Spitfire airframe with the more powerful two-stage Rolls-Royce Merlin 60-series engine. This let it match contemporary German fighters at higher altitudes. The c designation corresponds to the universal wing with mixed armament, and the late version includes later production details. The Mk.IX was among the most numerous and successful Spitfire variants.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue clean joints with a thin liquid cement for plastic. Glue any ProfiPACK etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue, and paint the interior before closing up the fuselage. Apply the British camouflage scheme with an airbrush over a primer; the supplied masks (on higher editions) make for sharp transitions and cockpit frames. Highlight the panel lines with a subtle wash and add restrained weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
