This photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard is intended for detailed refinement of a plastic model of the American strategic reconnaissance aircraft Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird in 1:72 scale. It is not a model or a kit but an accessory that adds fine metal features to the cockpit, the instrument panels, the landing gear bays and other areas that plastic captures only in a simplified way.
The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird was an American two-seat strategic reconnaissance aircraft able to fly well above three times the speed of sound at high altitude. Thanks to its speed and ceiling it was for decades among the most capable aircraft of the Cold War.
Separate the small photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and make the bends with tweezers or a bending tool. Use cyanoacrylate to glue metal to plastic. Degrease the cockpit parts before fitting them, spray a primer and then paint them in the matching shades.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a standalone model. The basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
