The Sturmgeschütz-Abteilung was an independent battalion of assault guns, that is of tracked vehicles without a rotating turret intended for the direct support of infantry. The individual battalions created recognition insignia of their own, which were painted on the fighting superstructure or on the front armor. A universal sheet gives builders the chance to put markings together according to photographic documentation of their own and not to be tied to one vehicle laid down in advance. That will be appreciated above all by those who build several machines of the same type and want to set them apart from each other.
Before you start, go through the sheet and plan out which insignia you will use and where they will go. Cut the individual designs out one by one, not all at once, so that small pieces do not get mixed up. On the vertical wall of the fighting superstructure an insignia tends to be conspicuous and will take a larger size, whereas small markings suit the front armor better. After application keep the sheet closed in the dry, so that the remaining designs do not get damp.
