A masking set for a model of the Supermarine Sea Otter Mk.I in 1:72 scale from Peewit. It is neither a kit nor decals — these are pre-cut masks for painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut masks intended for spraying a model of the Supermarine Sea Otter Mk.I amphibian in 1:72 scale. It is neither a kit nor a decal sheet — the package holds only masks, and the model itself has to be obtained separately. The exact contents of the set, that is whether it covers the wheels or other details besides the glazing, is shown by the diagram supplied with the masks; please check the sheet after unpacking. The masks are cut to the shape of the parts of the Sea Otter Mk.I model in 1:72 scale — before you buy we recommend checking the match with the model you are building.
Cutting masks by hand for the complex glazing of a biplane is tedious work, and a single crooked cut shows on the finished model for good. Pre-cut masks remove that problem: the pieces are peeled off the sheet, laid on the model and the edge is burnished down. The result is crisp transitions between the canopy framing and the clear area even where a hand-cut tape mask would not seat. On an aircraft with glazing as complex as the Sea Otter's, this is a noticeable saving of time.
The set suits anyone building the Sea Otter in 1:72 scale who does not want to spend an evening cutting tape. It will be appreciated above all by modelers who spray with an airbrush and want clean boundaries between areas of color, and also by those who have so far avoided masking for fear of an inaccurate result.
The package holds only the masking set. The aircraft model, paints and glue are not part of it.
