A very thin strip 0.3 x 2.8 mm from a size range derived from the 1:87 ratio, 35 cm long.
Responsibility details are not available.
Three tenths of a millimeter is so little that a strip glued on can almost be overlooked, and that is exactly the point. Cladding of material this thin does not raise the surface above the surrounding area and does not create a step that would have to be sanded away afterwards. A width of 2.8 mm corresponds in 1:87 to a ten inch board, the usual size for boarding and facade cladding alike.
The piece supplied is 35 cm long and is sold as individual profiles.
Do not cut thin material in a single pass. It is better to run the knife over it several times with light pressure, otherwise the strip twists and the edge stays frayed. When cladding a whole area, a grid drawn in pencil helps, as does always working from one edge so that the joints do not run out into a wedge.
Anyone who wants a wood grain can go over the surface with a wire brush or the tip of a scribing needle before painting and emphasize the resulting grooves with a dark wash. The texture then shows even under a light shade.
Battens, boarding, cladding on sheds, the floors of freight platforms, gate infills and small details on vehicle kits. In the larger scales it serves as a strip for felt roofing or as thin edging.
Work out the length you need in advance and add roughly a tenth as a reserve. When cladding, a few pieces always come to grief through a botched cut or crack at the moment the strip is already half in place, and going back for a single piece because of the last board is a needless waste of time.
