Reskit T-2C Buckeye wheels set 1:72 is a set of resin wheels for models of the American carrier trainer aircraft. It replaces the plastic wheels from the kit and brings a sharp drawing of the tread pattern and the discs.

This is not an aircraft kit but a detail accessory. The package holds wheels cast in resin, which are used on a finished model in place of the plastic wheels from the original kit. The wheels are the most conspicuous place on the landing gear, plastic parts tend to be soft in detail in this scale and often carry the parting plane of the mold in the middle of the tread pattern. A resin casting is by contrast sharp all the way round, with a legible tread pattern, lettering on the sidewalls of the tires and fine shaping of the discs. The manufacturer is the Ukrainian firm Reskit, which specializes in wheels, exhausts and other aftermarket accessories.
The T-2 Buckeye was an American two-seat jet trainer of the navy. It served for basic as well as advanced pilot training, including practice in taking off from and landing on the deck of an aircraft carrier, and the T-2C version was twin-engined. Carrier operations made high demands on the landing gear and the tires, which is why working the wheels up on a model is a rewarding detail.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent, so that the remains of the release agent from the mold are removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or break them off after cutting, sand the surface and protect your airways while sanding resin. They are glued with cyanoacrylate super glue; ordinary cement for plastic has no effect on resin. Apply a primer before painting. Do not paint the tires purely black, as a dark gray shade looks more convincing; the discs are commonly sprayed separately and the transition is covered with masking tape or a circular template. Dust and a dusty tread are finished off with pigments or a dry pastel.
The accessory is supplied as unpainted resin castings. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
