A sheet of decals in 1:72 scale with the markings of the German heavy tanks Tiger I and Tiger II from one heavy tank battalion.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Tiger I and the Tiger II are two different machines, which are nowhere near alike enough for markings to be swapped between them. The Tiger I has an angular hull with vertical walls, a wide hull tub and an 8.8cm gun with a barrel 56 calibers long. The Tiger II, against that, sets up steeply sloped armor plates, a differently shaped turret and a longer gun of the same caliber. The difference tells in the dimensions of the areas the markings will go onto as well, so the choice of design always has to be tied to the particular version.
This set of markings is devoted to the machines of one German heavy tank battalion listed under the number 508 and covers both of the versions of the tank mentioned. The designs are printed for 1:72 scale.
These are wet decals. Trim the design off tight to the print, dip it briefly in lukewarm water and let it rest until it begins to slide freely over the backing paper. Varnish the area to a gloss beforehand, otherwise a white veil will be left around the design. With tanks carrying a coarse layer of paste coating on the armor you will usually not manage without a softener; a matte varnish then evens the finished surface out.
The sheet will be used by modelers who build German heavy tanks in a small scale and want to tie a model to a particular unit. The sheet of decals is supplied on its own; the model, the paints and the glue do not belong with it, unless stated otherwise.
