1:72 Tu-16K-26 Badger G BASIC kabuki masks

New Ware Tu-16K-26 Badger G BASIC kabuki masks 1:72

A set of precisely shaped self-adhesive painting masks of fine Japanese washi tape (kabuki masks) for a plastic model of the Soviet Tupolev Tu-16 bomber in the K-26 version in 1:72 scale. It is not a model and not a part of an aircraft but an aid for spraying the glazing and other areas cleanly. The BASIC version is the basic level of the set: it contains masks for the glazed windows and other transparent parts, and wheel masks.

The real subject

The Tupolev Tu-16, NATO reporting name Badger, was a Soviet twin-engine jet bomber of the 1950s. The Tu-16K-26 version, designated Badger G by NATO, was adapted to carry underwing guided missiles and represented one of the later strike conversions of this machine.

How to use the masks

• Clean and degrease the transparent parts and place the mask exactly on the frames of the glazing.
• Press the edges down firmly so that paint does not run under them, then spray with an airbrush or a spray can.
• Apply thin coats and take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried.
• The wheel masks make it possible to separate the tire from the rim cleanly.

Who the set is for

• For modelers who want crisp color transitions without lengthy masking with tape.
• For a large bomber model with a great many glazed windows.
• For those to whom the basic coverage without masks for the inner sealing is enough.

The masks are an accessory for painting a model. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
