The Hauler 1:72 Type 2 Ka-Mi photo-etched set is an aftermarket accessory in photo-etched metal for a model of the Japanese amphibious tank. It is not a kit: the fret is etched to measure for the Dragon kit.

A fret of photo-etched parts in thin metal with which a plastic model of the Japanese Type 2 Ka-Mi amphibious tank in 1:72 scale is improved. Hauler is a Czech maker of aftermarket accessories for military hardware and this set is cut precisely for the Dragon kit. The model itself is not part of the package.
Injection-molded plastic has a technological limit on thickness. Anything that on the subject is of thin sheet metal, such as covers, loops, brackets and small linkages, inevitably comes out coarse in 1:72. Photo-etching works in tenths of a millimeter, so the edge of a part matches the scale and the eye registers the difference at once, because it compares the thickness with the surrounding surfaces of the model.
The Type 2 Ka-Mi was an amphibious tank of the Imperial Japanese Navy of the Second World War. In design terms it followed on from a light tank, and swimming was made possible by detachable pontoons at the bow and the stern, which were jettisoned after landing. It was intended for operations in the Pacific theater, where a landing directly from ship to shore was envisaged.
Cut the parts off with a scalpel on a hard surface, not with nippers, which deform the metal. Make the bends in a bending tool or between two blades, always along the etched line. Before gluing, degrease the metal with alcohol and go over it with primer, otherwise paint will not hold on smooth brass. It is glued with cyanoacrylate applied at points from a drop on a piece of plastic, never straight from the bottle. For places where you need time to position a part, a thicker gel variant is more practical.
This is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a standalone model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
