An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M26 Pershing heavy tank in its T26E3 production form, in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the series-built shape of the vehicle with its 90mm gun. The box holds injection-molded plastic on several sprues together with one-piece flexible tracks and an illustrated instruction sheet; the markings include a vehicle from the fighting in western Bohemia.
The M26 Pershing was the heaviest American tank committed to combat in the Second World War. The powerful 90mm M3 gun gave it firepower comparable to the German heavy tanks and the well-sloped armor protected it in frontal duels. It entered the fighting in Europe at the end of the war in 1945 and some vehicles reached western Bohemia, where the 8th Armored Division was advancing. The Pershing became the basis for the postwar American generation of medium tanks.
Finish the running gear and the lower hull first and only then close up the hull. Spray the olive drab with an airbrush in thin coats. A dark wash will add depth to the engraved lines and details, and a final pass of dust pigments will create convincing mud and dust effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
