Star Decals 1:72 US Pacific Battles - Okinawa. USMC M4A3 Sherman tanks is a sheet of waterslide decals with the markings of US Marine Corps tanks from the fighting for Okinawa.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a sheet of wet, that is waterslide, decals in 1:72 scale, not a kit. The set brings the markings and the personal names of the M4A3 Sherman tanks with the units of the US Marine Corps (USMC) from the fighting for the island of Okinawa. The decals round out a plastic model of a Sherman of the matching form with the authentic markings of particular machines.
The battle for Okinawa in the spring of 1945 was the last large ground operation of the Pacific War. The Marine Corps M4A3 Sherman tanks there carried tactical emblems and national stars, and many machines were given names of their own by their crews. Because of the threat from Japanese infantry with demolition charges, the hulls were often fitted with added cladding and armor.
Coat the area under the decal with a gloss varnish so that it beds down without silvering. Soak the cut-out decal in lukewarm water, slide it off the backing onto the model and set its position. A decal softener will help it settle, and a final coat of matte or semi-gloss varnish will blend the markings into the surface.
This is a standalone sheet of decals. The model, the paints and the varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
