The decals Star Decals 1:72 for the Russian T-72B tanks in the obr 1989 version and the T-72BA committed in Ukraine in 2022.
Responsibility details are not available.
The eighth sheet of the War in Ukraine series concentrates on two later forms of the T-72B tank as they were committed in Ukraine in 2022. The obr 1989 version and the modernized T-72BA are stated in the name.
The obr 1989 version is recognized by the factory-built explosive reactive armor laid out in a regular grid on the front of the hull and on the turret, thanks to which the tank has a markedly more angular outline. The T-72BA arose during overhauls of the older vehicle park and brought modifications of the instrument fit and the running gear; on the outside it differs from the basic version only in details. That is precisely why markings are useful: without the right insignia the two machines are practically indistinguishable on a model. Modelers will therefore appreciate that the sheet holds both forms together and offers the matching drawing for them.
The blocks of armor and the equipment carried create plenty of edges on the surface over which the membrane will not bend by itself, so a softening solution will help. It is better to divide smaller insignia and apply them in parts than to run them across a whole block at once. At the end even everything out with a semi-matte varnish, so that glossy patches do not catch the eye. Before application, check that the blocks of armor are firmly seated and nowhere project above the level of their surroundings.
