Responsibility details are not available.
This sheet joins two themes. Besides the Panthers of Pz-Reg. 16 and Pz-Brigade 111 it also offers markings for the PzKpfw IV Ausf J listed with the 116. Pz Div, so from one package two different types of tank of the same formation can be rounded out.
The Ausf J was the last series version of the Panzer IV. To simplify production and increase range, the auxiliary engine for electric traverse of the turret disappeared from it, so the turret was worked by hand only, and an extra fuel tank filled the room freed up. Late examples tended to have mesh instead of solid side skirts and a rougher surface finish. Alongside the Panther with its long barrel there thus stands a machine with a 7.5cm gun of L/48 length and a quite different silhouette. The Panzer IV is recognized by its shorter barrel and the higher superstructure of the turret as well, which creates an interesting contrast in a display cabinet.
Before application check whether the sides and the skirts are smooth, so that the edge of the membrane does not overhang into empty space anywhere. Transfer smaller insignia with tweezers with flat jaws and let them float into position. Even the transition between the glossy and the matte coat out with fine polishing only once it has dried. With the thin edges of the skirts it is advisable to seat an insignia in the middle of the area first and only then draw it to the edge.
