The accessory landing flaps for the Fw 190D in 1:72 scale replaces the standard kit parts with a shape matching the late flaps of wooden construction.

A small accessory for modelers who build the Focke-Wulf Fw 190D in 1:72 scale. It replaces the standard wing flaps with parts that match the late variant produced on the real aircraft with wooden construction. Watch out for a common misunderstanding: the word wooden refers to the real aircraft, not to the material of the modeling part. The set is not an aircraft kit in itself, and the base model has to be obtained separately. Check the contents of the package, the number of parts and the material of the set on the box.
The Fw 190D was the version powered by a liquid-cooled V engine, recognizable by its lengthened nose and longer rear fuselage. In late production, substitute materials were used for a number of airframe parts, and wooden flaps are among the details by which late machines visibly differed from earlier ones. For a modeler it is one of the features that allow a particular machine to be placed in time.
Cut or precisely sand the standard flaps off the kit according to the instructions and try the new part dry; glue it permanently only once the trailing edge and the angle of deflection both sit right. Glue the accessory with cyanoacrylate glue, a few seconds at a time and checking the seating. Lowered flaps make sense mainly on a model on the ground, while in flight they were usually retracted. Before painting, degrease the parts, apply a primer and finish the wing surfaces so that the transition between the kit and the accessory is not visible.
