A vacuum-formed clear cockpit canopy for the Yokosuka MXY7 Ohka model 11 in 1:72 scale is an accessory to a kit you have already bought, not a model. It replaces the injected part with thinner, cleaner film.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory from Brengun intended for the Brengun kit. The clear part is drawn from thin clear film over a form, so it has a markedly thinner wall than a canopy injected into a mold and you can see into the cockpit through it better. The set does not include the model; it is a replacement clear part.
On small airframes, where the glazed area is small, an injected part exacts a price twice over: a thick wall optically shrinks the cockpit and the parting plane of the mold leaves a trace on the outline that cannot be polished out without losing the shape. Drawn film sidesteps those troubles. It also comes in handy as a spare if the original part gets scratched, lost or fogged by glue, which happens easily with a small part.
First trace the seating edge with a fine marker or a soft pencil so that it stays visible while sanding. Cut the part out with a few millimeters of margin and sand the excess away gradually on fine abrasive paper laid on a flat board, with regular test fitting on the model. A dulled surface is polished up with fine polishing compound or evened out by dipping it in clear gloss varnish. It is glued with a cement for clear parts or with white glue. Super glue will fog the surface and that cannot be put right.
The accessory is supplied on its own. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
