Ducati GP7 decals in 1:9 scale

This is a set of decals from the Hobby Design brand meant for a model of the racing motorcycle Ducati GP7 in the large 1:9 scale. In itself the set is neither a model nor a set of spare parts; it is used to round out the surface of a machine already built.

The real subject

The GP7 designation belongs to a circuit special of the Ducati brand from the era when the top class of road championships was run with prototypes with a displacement of eight hundred cubic centimeters. Models of such machines live precisely off the surface: the colored areas of the fairing, the marks of partners, the warning labels and the markings of the tires turn a smooth shell into a believable racing motorcycle. The particular rider's livery the set deals with does not follow from the name.

Use

• apply onto a smooth glossy base; a matte surface lets the edges show
• work with lukewarm water and a soft bristle, so that the sheets do not fold over
• on the curved surfaces of a fairing decal softener helps
• seal the finished surface with a varnish that evens the sheen of the whole fairing out

Who the set is for

It will be appreciated by a modeler who is building a large motorcycle model and wants markings sharper than, or different from, the ones at hand. A large scale forgives fewer errors in registration, and all the more important are a steady hand and enough time for settling each piece. Before buying, compare the scale of your model, because sheets in 1:9 cannot be used on smaller machines. Keep the leftover pieces of the sheet; on motorcycle builds small markings come in useful later too.
