Colors for German vehicles of the last year of the war: the dark yellow on its way out, the olive base of the end of 1944, a red primer showing through and hastily applied patterns.
Responsibility details are not available.
In German workshops 1945 was anything but a time of order. Pigment deliveries failed, factories switched to a different order of application and repair units painted with whatever was left in the store. The result was machines on which an older yellow base, the darker olive finish ordered at the end of the previous year and areas where only the red-brown primer coat remained all existed side by side.
Whereas earlier a pattern had been applied with a brush or an airbrush according to some idea of a scheme, at the end of the war rough bands and clouds often came about during a single night before a move. Sharp transitions appear as well as spray from a pressure gun, areas covered only in part and plenty of places where the paint did not reach under the tools or behind the spare track links. Newly built hulls moreover arrived from individual makers matched a little differently each time.
That is exactly why on the subject of the last months it pays to build the finish up in layers from the bottom: first the rust primer, then a lighter tone applied intermittently and only after that the pattern. Light sanding or the salt mask technique can reveal the lower layer in places. The paints dry flat, so washes and pigments follow on without trouble. The lighter tones are worth applying thinly, so that the depth beneath shows through. Anyone who wants to go into detail can let the hull and a newly delivered turret come out differently, which was nothing exceptional on machines from repair shops.
