A clear heat-shrink tube 2.0 millimeters in diameter for modeling wiring and tubing. Under heat it contracts and grips whatever is underneath it firmly. On a model this creates the sleeves, connectors and end fittings of the plumbing that are otherwise hard to make: the end of a hose at a tap, the junction of two runs of different thickness or a cable clip on the frame. The clear version lets the color underneath show through, so the sleeve does not hide the shade of the run it is fitted to.
Cut off a piece slightly longer than you need and slide it onto the wire or tube. Bring the heat up slowly and from all sides so that the material contracts evenly and does not ripple. Shrink it away from the model: the plastic of a kit takes far less heat than the tube and will deform if you are careless. Only then fit the finished assembly in place. Trim the ends with a sharp blade after shrinking, while the material is cold, as the cut holds its shape better that way.
It suits builds of motorcycles and cars where the plumbing, cables and runs are added by hand, but it will serve anywhere else where a wire is meant to look like a real cable. A stock of several diameters in the drawer is more useful than a single one, because the diameter decides how prominent the sleeve on the model turns out.
The model, paints, glue and a heating tool are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
