35ml Starship Streaking

AMMO Starship Streaking — enamel product for streaks, 35 ml

A ready-to-use weathering product from AMMO (Mig Jimenez) in a 35 ml bottle, meant for creating vertical streaks, stains and running grime on the surface of a model. It is an enamel (solvent-based) product with a matte result — do not confuse it with an acrylic; it is thinned with enamel thinner, or with mineral spirits. The shade is tuned for spacecraft and sci-fi subjects, where it reproduces the characteristic streaking seen in films and series, but it works just as well on aircraft and military vehicles.

Use

• Apply it to a varnished, well-dried surface so that the enamel thinner does not disturb the paint beneath the product.
• Draw thin vertical lines from the top edge of a surface downward, where grime would naturally run.
• Blend and soften the lines with a clean brush moistened in enamel thinner (mineral spirits), working from the top down until you get a natural transition.
• Build the effect up gradually; any excess can be wiped off at any time until the product has dried completely, which takes roughly 24 hours.
