A paint from the 3rd Generation range by AK Interactive with the code designation 3B AU/ZB AU. The AFV abbreviation at the end of the name places the shade among the paints for armored equipment, that is for tracked and wheeled combat vehicles. The designation itself does not describe the tone, so compare the shade against the manufacturer's color chart or against the subject you are building before buying.
The 3rd Generation range is acrylic and is thinned with water or with the thinner meant for this range; the thinning ratio and the instructions for cleaning tools are given by the manufacturer on the packaging. Stir the bottle thoroughly before use, as settled pigment otherwise changes both the tone and the coverage. Apply in thin layers, whether with a brush or with an airbrush, and let each layer flash off before the next one comes. Wash and degrease the surface of the model beforehand; on greasy plastic the coat does not hold and it peels off when masks are removed.
The shade on a color chart and the shade on a finished model are not the same thing. On a small area, under different lighting and especially under a layer of varnish the paint looks different, so try it on a piece of scrap plastic before you touch the model. With equipment it is also assumed that you will still lighten or darken the base coat according to the size of the model. Close the bottle carefully after work and store it dry, away from frost and direct sun.
The thinner, brushes, masks and airbrush are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
