The package brings together six translucent white molds for casting round bases. The diameters are 25, 32, 40, 50 and 60 mm and the wall is 10 mm high. That is the span within which the overwhelming majority of tabletop games moves: the smaller rings carry infantry and heroes, the largest belong to cavalry, monsters and light vehicles.
A molded plastic ring is flat and empty, so the work on it is only beginning. When you pour resin or plaster into the mold and press the structure of paving, a rutted track or a network of cracks into the setting mass, you get a surface that cannot be bought in. The translucent wall meanwhile shows the whole time where the mass has reached and whether an air bubble is holding at the edge.
Stand the mold on a level board, so that the face of the casting stays in the horizontal plane. Mix the mass in small doses in a cup and pour it in two goes rather than in one. Once it has cured, push the casting out, even the lower edge up with a file and let it air for a day; only then apply a primer.
