An injection-molded plastic kit of the battleship HMS Duke of York in 1:1200 scale from the German brand Revell. The small scale is popular with collectors and with builders of waterline models, because the finished model takes up little room and still captures the characteristic silhouette of a warship. The model is made up of a few dozen parts, and the package includes decals and a finely rendered deck.
HMS Duke of York was a King George V class battleship of the Royal Navy, in service during the Second World War. She became known above all for her part in sinking the German battleship Scharnhorst in the Battle of the North Cape at the end of 1943. She carried a main armament of 356 mm caliber and was among the modern British battleships of the time.
In such a small scale, careful cleanup of the parts and a thin coat of paint, best applied with an airbrush, will show, so that the fine detail of the superstructure is not lost. Thin plastic cement is recommended, with a primer on the ground and the decks and hull picked out with a light wash into the recesses. Apply the decals onto smooth gloss varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
