Responsibility details are not available.
A resin cockpit set for building the American attack aircraft Douglas A-1H Skyraider in 1:32 scale, in the version with the Yankee escape system. The box gives the Skyraider from Trumpeter as the target kit. Aires Hobby Models is a Czech maker whose cockpit sets usually combine resin castings with photo-etched parts and an instrument panel film. The plastic kit is not included in the package.
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was a piston attack aircraft with a radial engine, which appeared at the very end of the Second World War and outlived a whole generation of jets. It could carry an enormous load of bombs and rockets and stay over a target for hours, which made it a key type for supporting ground troops and for rescue operations in Vietnam. Some machines then received the Yankee escape system, which pulled the pilot out of the cockpit with a rocket on a cable.
A cockpit set always means reworking the fuselage. First test dry how much plastic has to be taken off the inside of the fuselage halves, and take it off in small steps. Wash the resin in warm soapy water so that the paint will hold, and cut off the casting blocks with a saw. Paint the cockpit tub and set it in place once dry, before you glue the fuselage together. Glue the photo-etched belts and the instrument panel film on last, preferably with glue for clear parts.
This is an accessory to a model, not a kit. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
