Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM. This is not a vehicle kit but a stand-alone set of figures, used as an accessory to a model of some piece of hardware or as the foundation of a vignette. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Brewster Body Shield was an American experimental piece of personal armor from the period of the First World War. It consisted of a thick steel breastplate rigidly joined to a head cover with a narrow vision slit. The aim was to protect the head and the upper part of the torso against splinters. Because of its great weight and the severe restriction of movement, it stayed at the trials stage and never reached ordinary issue. It is precisely the unusual shape of the equipment that makes these figures a conspicuous element, one not seen in other sets.
The parting lines have to be cleaned up carefully, above all on the face and the hands, where every line shows. The figures are glued with a thin polystyrene cement and primed before painting. The skin is built up from a base tone through the shadows into the highlights; the uniform will take a fine lightening of the edges and a light soiling of the lower areas. Steel armor calls for a different approach from cloth: a dark metallic base works well, with a light polishing of the edges with graphite or a metallic paint and the addition of surface corrosion, depending on the setting you place the figure in.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
