About product

Ford Model T 1914 Fire Truck 1:35 (ICM)

An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM. It depicts the fire-fighting variant of the famous Ford Model T of 1914. In the box you will find clear parts, rubber tires and a decal sheet. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.

The real subject

The Ford Model T was the first mass-produced automobile in the world and it also became the basis for purpose-built bodies. A light and nimble fire engine on its chassis suited the cramped streets of large cities, where heavy fire pumps could not reach. The open layout with a tank and hoses is typical of the technology of the period.

Building and painting tips

Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic, and use super glue for the small brass and clear elements instead. Apply the characteristic red with an airbrush over a primer and bring out the brass fittings and lanterns with metallic paint. Complete the weathering of the chassis with a wash and pigments to give the impression of a working machine.

Who the model is for

  • for collectors of historic automobiles and fire-fighting equipment
  • for modelers with a taste for dioramas of the early twentieth century
  • for intermediate builders

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
